Summer Beach Training

All summer training is undertaken at our club house at Southbourne beach.

All our members are encouraged to work towards various lifesaving competencies and awards. Training takes place on the beach, in the sea and in our club house.

Many of the competencies and awards can be used beyond surf life saving, including the Beach Lifeguard award required for employment as a professional beach lifeguard in the UK (like the RNLI) and abroad, and the first aid competencies which can be widely used.

Wetsuits are worn when training in the water and members should come ready for a beach session.
